History

Operating since 1995, The Narrows Bed and Breakfast is a turn of the century Row House on beautiful Gower Street in downtown St. John's.

Owner Ann O’Brien has been in the hospitality and tourism industry all her life and has been operating The Narrows for over 25 years.

The original homes were built in the late 1800's and feature beautiful antiques, artwork and furniture and beautiful common areas.

These are the original and authentic Jelly Bean Row houses famous the world over for their quaint charm and colorful flair.

Putting the break back in breakfast.

There's a lot to be said for starting the day off with a hearty breakfast. It's your last little break before you start your busy day of sightseeing in the oldest city in North America.

Breakfast is also one of the times you are most likely to run in to one of our other guests and who knows maybe strike up a life long friendship with a total stranger. We have visitors from all over the world so you never know who you'll meet.

It is also when you're likely to have the privilege of meeting our colorful host and world traveller herself Ann O'Brien (who lives on-site) or manager Lisa Clarke, who both have vast knowledge of the city and always have a good story and a laugh.
